Sinaloa Booklet, 2017

This was a booklet I made in my Typography I class that featured cohesive imagery and information inspired by the typeface, Sinaloa, and graphic work created by designer Rosmarie Tissi.

The cover and the inside of the book were made with characteristics that are commonly featured throughout Rosmarie Tissi’s career. These include the use of dots, lines, bold color choices, basic geometrical shapes, and imbalanced structure.

My third spread was heavily inspired by one of Rosmarie Tissi’s most famous posters that was used to advertise a concert.

With my fifth spread, I featured speech bubbles displaying the word “what?” in the Sinaloa typeface, using the three primary languages spoken in Switzerland; French, Italian, and Germany.

In the final spread, I was inspired by one of Tissi’s famous graphic posters, which reminded me a lot of one of my favorite childhood books, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. Her use of bold colors and playful letter rotation evoked the imagery of the large, blocky letters falling out of the alphabet tree.
